Overview
Thanatos is the Angel of Death — the fourth boss of the tier, and a significant shift in how you approach combat. Unlike the raw damage and sustained pressure of previous bosses, Thanatos brings high defence and accuracy. He will hit you consistently, and your DPS will need to work harder to punch through his protection.
His standard max hit of 500 is manageable with proper gear — the real threat is his unique mechanic, which can spike well beyond that in its opening hit before rapidly diminishing. Understanding when that window is dangerous and when it is not is the key to this fight.
Boss Mechanic
Thanatos unleashes a devastating three-hit burst — three strikes that all land at the same moment, with no pause between them. The hits are halved in sequence: 500, then 250, then 125.
There is no breathing room during the sequence. No time to react between hits. You see the cast, and a fraction of a second later all three damage values stack on you simultaneously.
| Strike | Max Damage | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | 500 | Simultaneous |
| 2nd | 250 | Simultaneous |
| 3rd | 125 | Simultaneous |
| Total | 875 | In one burst |
Required Gear
Required loadout
Thanatos's high defence means your weapon choice matters more here than in any previous boss. The Yugioh Staff is required to punch through his protection at a reasonable rate — weaker weapons will significantly extend the fight.

Bring a full inventory of food. Thanatos's high accuracy means he will land hits regularly — unlike Poseidon where misses gave you breathing room, Thanatos will wear you down steadily throughout the fight.

Spoils
Death comes with its rewards. Complete Thanatos's collection log (CTRL+C) before moving on — his drops represent key progression upgrades and are worth farming before the next tier.
